We haven’t heard much from Cameron Diaz since she married Good Charlotte guitarist Benji Madden in 2015. Here’s a possible reason why - she’s retired. Well, at least that’s what her “The Sweetest Thing” co-star Selma Blair says.
“I had lunch with Cameron the other day, we were reminiscing about (’The Sweetest Thing’),” Blair tells Metro News. “I would have liked to do a sequel, but Cameron’s retired from acting, she’s like, ‘I’m done.’ I mean, she doesn’t need to make any more films, she has a pretty great life, I don’t know what it would take to bring her back. She’s happy.” It’s true according to her IMDB, she’s done 54 projects between 1994 and 2014, so maybe she wants a rest?
Before you freak out, Blair was apparently kidding. She has since taken to Twitter to clarify what she meant. “Guys please, I was making a joke in an interview,” she writes. “CAMERON DIAZ is NOT retiring from ANYTHING and for more breaking news: I am NOW retiring from being Cameron Diaz’s spokesperson.” So does this mean the sequel is back on?
