IN-N-OUT BURGER: Managers Make $160,000 Per Year

posted by Wells Adams -

When considering desirable careers, fast food usually doesn't appear on high on the list, but that might change. Southern California fast food chain In-N-Out Burger recently revealed that its store managers, on average, earn more than $160,000 a year.

Saru Jayaraman, director of UC Berkley's Food Research Center, said, "In-N-Out is just eons above everybody else. On wages and benefits, they really are the best large chain."

Managers at In-N-Out oversee only one location and are responsible for all aspects of the facility, from training workers to ensuring the location is kept clean.

Workers at the chain start out at $13 an hour -- $2 over California's minimum wage -- and can work their way up the ladder to a managerial position that pays about $160,000, even without a college degree. (USA Today)
