Foo Fighters closed 2017's final episode of Saturday Night Live with an extended performance of "Everlong" that morphed into a pair of seasonal classics, Darlene Love's "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" and The Vince Guaraldi Trio's "Linus and Lucy" from A Charlie Brown Christmas.
Dressed in a red and white Christmas sweater with a reindeer motif, Dave Grohl began the medley playing "Everlong" solo until the band kicked in after the second chorus and things shifted into holiday gear. The band had three women backing vocalists take the lead for Love's classic from the A Christmas Gift for You from Phil Spector album, which morphed into a short version of "Linus and Lucy" that the similar to Trans Siberian Orchestra's take on the song.
