You might have read about it at some point, but today is St. Patrick’s Day. You know, the day where everyone pretends like they needed an excuse to get really hammered while wearing green, and talking like they’re on a box of Lucky Charms. Guinness is the ‘Nectar of the Gods,’ and green beer is just lovely. But we know you – you might find yourself in the mood for something a bit more interesting.
Well, here are four drinks that you can make for your celebration without dealing with a bunch of over-the-top complexity.
The New Irish Breakfast – Jameson’s and orange juice. 2-ounces of each, shaken, and poured over an ice cube. Easy.
Irish Pickleback – Take 1 ½ ounces of Irish Whiskey and pickle juice. Shoot the whiskey, and chase it with the chilled pickle juice. It’s better than it sounds.
Shamrock Shake Smash – 1 bottle or can of Guinness, and a couple of scoops of frozen Shamrock Shake from McDonald’s. Pour the Guinness ¾ of the way to the top of the glass. Add a couple of scoops of Shamrock Shake. Amazing.
Irish Car Bomb – ½ ounce of Kerrygold Irish Cream Liqueur, ½ ounce Jameson, and I Guinness. Pour the Irish Crème and Jameson into a shot glass, with the Irish Crème layer on bottom. Pour the Guinness ¾ into a glass. Once the Guinness settles, drop in the shot, and chug it. Just don’t under any circumstances order it in Ireland.
And there you have your perfect St. Patrick’s Day laid out in four convenient drinks!
