USDA Investigating Mystery Packets Of Seeds People Are Receiving From China

The USDA is investigating packages of unsolicited mystery seeds that people have been receiving in the mail from China.

According to a post on the USDA website, they are "urging anyone who receives an unsolicited package of seeds to immediately contact their State plant regulatory official or APHIS State plant health director. The statement went on to say that "you should hold onto the seeds and packaging, including the mailing label, until someone from your State department of agriculture or APHIS contacts you with further instructions.

The USDA also said it may just be a “brushing scam," which happens when people get unsolicited things from a seller who then posts false customer reviews to boost sales.

The investigation is ongoing, but one important thing to remember is this...if you get seeds in the mail that you didn't order, DO NOT PLANT THEM!
