The Eagles has filed a lawsuit accusing the owner of a Mexican hotel of using the name "Hotel California" with out the bands permission. In the complaint filed the Eagles said that the owners of the Baja California hotel "actively encourage" guests to believe the hotel is associated with the band in order to sell tshirts and other merchandise. They also pipe in the song "Hotel California: and other Eagles songs to make guests feel welcome. The Eagles also noted that the hotel has applied for a US Patent and Trademark to register the hotel name.
