Why is United States Women's Soccer So Much More Successful Than the Men?

Mexico v United States: Final - 2019 CONCACAF Gold Cup
Clay Travis: “A lot of people look at our women’s soccer and say 'Why are our women so much better than the rest of the world and our men are so average?' What do you say to those people?”
Frank Isola: “A lot of these countries don’t have Title IX and women don’t have the opportunities like we’ve had here for the last 50 years.”

Listen to sportswriter Frank Isola join Outkick The Coverage to discuss the United States Women’s National Team’s World Cup title and try to theorize why the US is so dominant in women’s soccer, but so mediocre in the men’s circuit.

The USWNT has dominated soccer for nearly 30 years and established itself as the most lucrative women’s sports team in the world, which has led people to assume that the United States would be able to produce a powerful men’s team as well.

It’s been quite the opposite however, as the USMNT recently failed to even qualify for the 2018 World Cup in a CONCACAF division that is regarded as one of the weakest in the world.

Check out the audio below as Clay Travis and Isola detail the shortcomings of our men, and talk about why the rest of the world continues to be lapped by the US women in soccer.
