Some were great. Some were embarrassing. But all left us wanting more, and drove us to the record stores to pick up the LPs, cassettes, or (for the rich kids) the CDs that the songs came from. They were music videos. And they ruled the world.
I've picked a few of the videos of songs from this past Saturday's METAL WORKS ( to check out the full playlist just click here). You probably saw these back in the day on Miscellaneous Television or Much Music or Night Flight or Friday Night Videos, etc. etc.
**Some of the video quality on these aren't great, but I tried to find the best version of each for your trip down memory lane.**
Enjoy!

Let's get things going with VICIOUS RUMORS off their self-titled 1990 album with "Don't Wait For Me."
HURRICANE with their self-titled song "Hurricane" from 85's Take What You Want.
Featuring Mikkey Dee (King Diamond, Motorhead) on drums, John Norum (Europe) on guitar, and PETER BALTES (Accept) on bass, here's DON DOKKEN's "Mirror, Mirror" off his 1990 album Up From The Ashes.
With their cover of the song "Face The Day," it's GREAT WHITE from their 86 album Shot In The Dark.
Now for some late-model Blackie Lawless and company. From the 2009 album Babylon, it's W.A.S.P. with "Babylon's Burning."
Speaking of "Babylon"... here's BABYLON A.D. with "Hammer Swings Down" from their self-titled 1989 album.
Featuring members of Alice Cooper's band (Chuck Garric) and Alice Cooper's family (Calico Cooper) it's BEASTO BLANCO with their cover of Coop's "Feed My Frankenstein" off their 2016 self-titled album.
The late, great, Jani Lane getting autobiographical about a rough time in his life. WARRANT with "I Saw Red" from 1990's Cherry Pie.
And finally, a music video (not to mention a song) that is arguably one of the best ever made. IRON MAIDEN's "Wasted Years" from 86's Somewhere In Time. (Note: for some reason the Maiden team stretch all their videos to fit the screen, which distorts the picture. My apologies, but apart from that, it's the best quality picture I could find.)
