Episode 313 - The Videos

Some were great.  Some were embarrassing.  But all left us wanting more, and drove us to the record stores to pick up the LPs, cassettes, or (for the rich kids) the CDs that the songs came from.  They were music videos.  And they ruled the world.

I've picked a few of the videos of songs from this past Saturday's METAL WORKS (you can check out the full playlist just click here).  You probably saw these back in the day on Miscellaneous Television or Night Flight or Friday Night Videos.

**Some of the video quality on these aren't great, but I tried to find the best version of each for your trip down memory lane.**

Enjoy!

Let's start things off with LEATHERWOLF from their self-title 1988 album with "The Calling."

Here's FIREHOUSE from their '92 album Hold Your Fire with "Reach For The Sky."

Some music videos told stories.  And some of them actually made sense.  Here's POISON with "Fallen Angel" off the Open Up And Say... Ahh! album.

...speaking of angels.   This next one is the name of the song, the band, and the album.  From 1980... ANGEL WITCH.

Mosh in the comfort of your own home with an ode to that pastime... the EXODUS classic "The Toxic Waltz" off their '89 album Fabulous Disaster.

Another video from the year 1989... TESLA with "Heaven's Trail (No Way Out)" from The Great Radio Controversy.

The ideas may have been far bigger than the budgets allowed, but you gotta give them credit for trying.  Here's DIO with the title track from 84's The Last In Line.

From their 1991 album Second Coming here's Shotgun Messiah with "Heartbreak Blvd."

And now a video that really captures the look and feel of 1988.  And by "look and feel of 1988" I mean "tall and crunchy."  (My God, we used a lot of hairspray back then.)  RATT "I Want A Woman" from Reach For The Sky.

Let's end things with something new.  From their album Hands Of Fate which came out late 2017, here's SAVAGE MESSIAH with "Eat Your Heart Out."
