He was a trail blazer along with The Allman Brothers Band, one of the first southern rock bands. Known for his gritty vocals and amazing command of the b3 organ, Gregg Allman passed yesterday in Savannah at 69. While looking at the news stories, bio's and pics I ran across a rare 1977 radio interview. Never being one to hold back Gregg gives candid answers to candid questions. We learn he and brother Duane were born here in Nashville and that he lost his father when he was 2. It's a rather lengthy interview, but you have an additional day off this weekend, spend 47 minutes and enjoy.
