Woman Allegedly Stabbed Man In Retaliation For Death Of Iranian General

A 21-year-old woman is in custody after she reportedly killed a man she met on an Internet dating site, authorities say.

Nika Nikoubin is facing charges of attempted murder, battery and burglary of a business in connection with the assault, which occurred in March at the Sunset Station Hotel in Henderson, Nevada, according to police. The pair had rented a room in the hotel after meeting on the dating website Plenty of Fish, the Henderson Police Department reports. The two were in the middle of having sex when Nikoubin climbed on top of the man, blindfolded him and stabbed him in the neck, police say.

When asked why she'd tried to kill her date, Nikoubin told investigators she was trying to get "revenge against US troops for the killing of Oassem Soleimani in 2020." Soleimani, an Iranian military leader, was killed in a U.S. drone strike.
