Charges have been dropped in the case of a Missouri teacher accused of having sex with an underage student -- because she has married the teen.
Baylee Turner was charged with having sexual relations with a minor in 2019, when she was a 23-year-old teacher at Sarcoxie High School. Although the case was set to go to trial next month, court officials have scrubbed it from the docket because Turner and the former student have reportedly tied the knot, prosecutors say. In accordance with Missouri law, a husband can't testify against his wife.
The newlyweds have reportedly moved out of state and Baylee has surrendered her teaching license, police say.
