Surfers Help Deliver Supplies To Fire Victims From $25M Yacht

This could only happen in Malibu …

When a billionaire winery owner wanted to get supplies delivered to people affected by the California wildfires, his 142-foot yacht made it happen. The makeshift supply mission happened in the waters off Paradise Cove thanks to some local surfers who brought the supplies from ship to shore.

Howard Leight, owner of the Malibu Rocky Oaks winery, used his $25-million yacht to bring the supplies, including around 3,000 bottles of water, 100 gallons of gas, food, shovels, and plenty of beer, to those in need. But when cops told the group they couldn’t ferry the goods to shore themselves, they enlisted the help of surfers and paddleboarders in the area.

The scene was caught on video by some residents and reporters and shared on social media. As one Twitter user put it, “Does it get more California than this?”
