Another year of The Rock And Roll hall Of Fame and the night was rockin!
The 40th annual induction ceremony honored Bad Company, Joe Cocker, Cyndi Lauper, Outkast, Soundgarden, The White Stripes and Chubby Checker. Salt-N-Pepa and Warren Zevon received the Musical Influence Award and Thom Bell, Nicky Hopkins and Carol Kaye received the Musical Excellence Award.
The show started with a salute to the late Sly Stone, with Beck, Questlove and Leon Thomas III, Flea and Stevie Wonder performing “Dance to the Music.” Elton John paid tribute to the late Brian Wilson with a moving rendition of “God Only Knows,” backed by Benmont Tench and Don Was.
David Letterman gave a heartfelt remembrance of his friend Warren Zevon and The Killers’ performed “Lawyers, Guns and Money”. A reunited Soundgarden, remembered Chris Cornell and performed with Nancy Wilson, The Pretty Reckless’ Taylor Momsen and Brandi Carlile.
