There is a man named Mark Zuckerberg, who is a bankruptcy lawyer from Indiana, that has filed a lawsuit against Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Yes, that Mark Zuckerberg.
Lawyer Mark Zuckerberg, uses a commercial Facebook page for his legal practice and to communicate with clients, but the man’s page has been disabled five times in the last eight years, due to Meta’s moderation systems. His page has been flagged falsely for impersonating Meta Mark Zuckerberg.
Now let’s be clear, Zuckerberg is a fairly common enough name, and Mark is far more common than Zuckerberg, so in his legal complaint, Lawyer Mark points out that he has been practicing law since Mark Zuckerberg was three years old.
“It’s not funny,” Mark Zuckerberg, the lawyer, said. “Not when they take my money. This really pissed me off.”
Lawyer Mark has spent over $11,000 in advertising on his page, and when the account is disabled, lawyer Mark Zuckerberg still has to pay for the advertisements.
“If you happen to run into the younger, richer Mark Zuckerberg, tell him I said hi and he caused me great aggravation each day,” Mark wrote in one email to Meta.
It has yet to be reported whether or not Meta has fixed the problem.
“I don’t wish Mark E. Zuckerberg any ill will at all,” lawyer Mark wrote on his website. “I hope the best for him, but let me tell you this, I will rule the search for ‘Mark Zuckerberg bankruptcy.’ And if he does fall upon difficult financial times, and happens to be in Indiana, I will gladly handle his case in honor of our eponymy.”
