Believe it or not, Ozzy Osbourne painted five works of art with chimpanzees.
That’s not a punchline to a joke, The Prince Of Darkness actually completed paintings with chimpanzees, and they’re being auctioned to raise money for the endangered ape species.
Ozzy, started each canvas with a background, and let the chimps Kramer, Sable, Sophie and Janice to add their own colors. The completed paintings were then given names and signed by Ozzy. Each has a starting price of £1,000, which is around $1,360, via the Omega Auctions sale which closes on July 17.
“I paint because it gives me peace of mind, but I don’t sell my paintings,” Osbourne said in a statement. “I’ve made an exception with these collaborations as it raises money for Save the Chimps, a sanctuary for hundreds of apes rescued from labs, roadside zoos and wildlife traffickers.”
