Today Def Leppard Said Goodbye To Steve Clark By Going #1!

In 1991 Def Leppard lost their beloved guitarist Steve Clark and had to record their album "Adrenalize," without him.

When the album debuted it went #1 on the album charts and stayed there for 5 weeks! The album was mainly recorded by Phil Collen playing both his and Steve's parts, but when the band hit the road to promote the album, former Dio & Whitesnake guitarist Vivian Campbell joined the group.

The album came with the hits "Let's Get Rocked," "Make Love Like A Man," "Have You Ever Needed Someone So Bad," and "Tonight." Clark wrote on most of the songs and some of his demo riffs were used in places of certain songs, but Collen did his best to copy Steve's parts from the demos on the actual song recordings.

Apart from their B-Side compilation album, "Retro Active," Adrenalize would be the bands' last real album driven by their pop metal sound that made their careers in the 80's. With the 90's came a more adult contemporary sound which tuned out some of their more die hard fans, but brought a slew of new ones to the fold. Adrenalize is considered their last major successful album.
