Matt Clarke, Chief Operations Officer for Churchill Mortgage Corporation

With over 25 years of experience, Matthew C. Clarke brings a wealth of financial and mortgage industry knowledge to the table. As Chief Operations Officer of Churchill Mortgage, Clarke oversees the day-to-day operations of the Brentwood, Tennessee-based company. He has helped transform Churchill from a mortgage broker to a mortgage banker, implemented new origination and servicing systems, recruited and developed a retail branch network and played a leading role in the overall evolution of the business.

Before joining Churchill in 2003, Clarke gained experience with several reputable companies in the housing and finance industries, including CNA Insurance Companies and Nashville-based Massachusetts Mutual, where he became an expert in financial management, business development, operational management, strategic planning, banking, process development, mergers/acquisitions and risk management. Prior to his current role, Clarke served as Chief Financial Officer at Churchill Mortgage and in 2013, was recognized as a finalist for the Nashville Business Journal’s CFO Awards, which honors Middle Tennessee's top financial professionals for outstanding performance in their roles as corporate financial stewards.

Clarke earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration Finance from Stonehill College in Massachusetts. In both his personal and professional life, Clarke has been an active founder and member of many industry and community boards: including, American Home Escrow and Title, Equity Title, Churchill Title, Simple Escrow, OPX-America, Churchill Agency Ventures, Mortgage Partners of America, Real Estate Services of America and Lighthouse Christian School Capital Campaign. He is also president of The Churchill Agency and ICAN Foundation, and sits on the boards for the Community Mortgage Lenders of America, Lenders One Mortgage Cooperative and Ellie Mae.

Outside of his local community involvement, Clarke is passionate about giving back to families around the world. Within the past few years, he has led a group of volunteers to Haiti, Honduras, Guatemala and locations within the U.S., where they have constructed and repaired homes and community centers; supported clinics, churches and orphanages; and delivered food, clothing and medical services to those in need. He is a loving father to three sons and one daughter with his wife Susan.
