The Prince of Darkness was chosen as this year's muse by the public, with the farm showcasing its pyramid display for the past 10 years. Lola Young Collapses Onstage At All Things Go Festival

Lola Young says she's doing okay after collapsing on stage during a performance over the weekend. On Saturday, she was at New York City's All Things Go festival performing songs off her new album. While singing the 2023 single "Conceited," Young paused to say something to her keyboardist before she suddenly collapsed. She was down for about 30-to-45-seconds and then carried off stage. After the incident, the singer took to Instagram to say she's doing okay now and thanked fans for their support. Young ended up canceling her Sunday performance at the All Things Go festival in Washington, D.C.

REO SPEEDWAGON: Marching the Way Forward?

It was another homecoming for REO Speedwagon on Saturday when four of the five members of the band's classic line-up came together at the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign where they formed in 1967. Singer and guitarist Kevin Cronin, keyboardist Neal Doughty, drummer Alan Gratzer and bassist Bruce Hall collaborated with the Marching Illini during halftime of the Illinois-USC game for a one-of-a-kind REO-themed performance that featured three of their songs -- "Ridin' the Storm Out," "Roll With the Changes" and "157 Riverside Avenue." Doughty, Gratzer and Hall performed, and Cronin didn't sing - he introduced each song. This marked their first performance since December 31st, 1988 -- guitarist Gary Richrath died in 2015 -- and the first time that Cronin and Hall came together since REO hung up their wings last year after Cronin wanted to continue without Hall, who was sidelined with a back injury that required surgery. Doughty and Hall voted against Cronin's continuing under the REO banner unless Hall was part of the lineup.

While Cronin has found touring as The Kevin Cronin Band to be difficult, despite it being the last touring line-up of REO minus Hall, he said in a TV interview Friday that this reunion was for their fans. "To me it's the fans all around the country. They know that we're going to be together for the first time in a long time. And, REO Speedwagon has always stood for 'we ride the storm out. We roll with the changes. We keep pushing.' We're a positive energy source, and that's what the institution of REO Speedwagon has always stood for. So for the four of us to be here together, I think it sends a message to the fans that you overcome whatever you got to overcome in the service of them, the fans." Asked if there could be more to come, Doughy said, "You never know," with Gratzer adding, "We don't know. We can't read the future, the magic ball." Cronin toured this past summer as part of the Brotherhood of Rock

tour with Styx and Don Felder, and he will be part of the Rock Legends Cruise in February.

PAUL McCARTNEY: Look What He Got Back

Paul McCartney just received a priceless gift. This past March we reported on the discovery of a reel-to-reel demo tape The Beatles had recorded at Decca Studios in London on January 1st, 1962. Labeled "Beatles 60s demos," it was found by Rob Frith, owner of Neptoon Records in Vancouver. He played it thinking it was a bootleg, only to discover it's a direct copy of an early audition recording. Frith was contacted by McCartney's lawyer, and on September 18th Frith and his wife met McCartney during his tour rehearsals in Los Angeles -- and gave him the tape. He tells the Vancouver Sun, “We hung out with him for like, 40 minutes. He’s an absolute sweetheart of a guy. If you’re a Beatles fan and you thought he was a really cool person, he was even nicer than you could imagine, just such a down-to-earth, nice, sweet guy.” He adds that McCartney kept saying how “wonderful” it was that he just gave him the tape, but Firth says meeting him was worth more than any money he could have made off of it. “I told Paul, ‘You changed my life as far as music. Basically, that’s why I have a record store, because of the influence from you guys.'" A bootleg of these recordings was released in the late '70s.

McCartney officially started his Got Back tour last night (Monday) in Palm Desert, California after a warm-up show on Friday in Santa Barbara, California.

GEDDY LEE: Two-For-Tuesday

Rush singer and bassist Geddy Lee has two books being published today (September 30th).

The first is his third book, 72 Stories From the Baseball Collection of Geddy Lee. It was originally a limited-edition book given to those who bought items from his massive collection of baseball memorabilia when he auctioned them in July 2024. But he was convinced by his publisher, HarperCollins, to turn it into a coffee table book along the lines of his first one, 2018's Big Beautiful Book of Bass.

With so many prized pieces of memorabilia, we asked Geddy how he went about choosing what items to write about. "Sometimes I chose a story where just the acquisition was kind of fun. Sometimes it was what that player represented to me and what that player represented to the history of the game and the impact that player had on the game. And sometimes it was purely emotional, like keepsakes that reminded me of the old [Montreal] Expos for example who were my first baseball love really. So, I just looked for stories that were meaningful to me, or ones that I thought would be meaningful to other people -- fans of the game -- or stories that were just about the fun of collecting."

Also being published today is the paperback edition of his 2023 memoir, My Effin' Life, which contains an appendix. "We did it in the form of a Q&A and then I can tell the stories that didn't make it in the book and I can tell the stories about the book tour and of course the story about playing the Taylor Hawkins tribute [in 2022 in London and Los Angeles], which was a huge event in my life and Alex's [Lifeson] life. It was also one of the few times Alex and I had gotten together to play Rush music since the band had ended [in 2015]." Both books are available at leading bookstores, Amazon or HarperCollins.com.

GEDDY LEE: Fourplay

Geddy Lee of Rush, who for many years has moonlighted as our baseball analyst, sat down to discuss this year's playoffs, starting with the best two-out-of-three Wild Card round, which gets under way Tuesday. Starting in the American League, the Cleveland Guardians host the Detroit Tigers at 1:08 p.m. ET, and Geddy says, "I think that's gonna be a really tough series."

"Cleveland seems to be a team made up of good pitching and unsung heroes. And the Tigers have a lot of great hitters in their line-up. So, I think it's gonna be really exciting. But I would not be surprised if Cleveland broke Detroit's heart. But I think it's gonna be close."

The second game in the American League has the New York Yankees hosting the Boston Red Sox at 6:08 p.m. ET. "You've got [pitcher] Garrett Crochet and a whole line-up of good hitters for the Boston Red Sox. And on the Yankees side you have the undeniable [Aaron] Judge, Max Fried and a whole host of others. Defense might play a part of it. The Yankees have not played great defense this year, and under pressure we'll see if that's a difference maker. But I think they're pretty evenly matched, but I give the Yankees the edge."

In the National League, the first game is at 3:08 p.m. ET with the Chicago Cubs hosting the San Diego Padres, and Geddy was quick to say he's pulling for the Cubs. And the final game of the day has last year's World Series Champion Los Angeles Dodgers hosting the Cincinnati Reds at 9:08 p.m. ET. "I got to stick with the Dodgers. The pitching is so deep. And just when you thought they couldn't score runs anymore, their veterans like [Freddie] Freeman and [Mookie] Betts and all those guys woke up."

OASIS: Coming Back Next Year?

It looks like Oasis fans might get their wish for the band's reunion to continue. At the end of Sunday night's show in London -- their last in the U.K. before the tour heads to Japan, Australia and South America throughout the fall -- Liam Gallagher told the audience before I wanna thank you lot for keeping the faith and putting this band back on the map....see you next year.” And while a live album from this tour hasn't been announced yet (even though a handful of songs have been released to streaming), the band's 2000 live album Familiar to Millions will be reissued as a two CD or three LP set on November 14th.
