It wasn’t a typical rescue. A railway worker had to spring into action during the brutal cold snap last month in Georgia when he walked up on a raccoon in trouble. Specifically, the animal had somehow managed to get his testicles frozen to a rail on the tracks.
Neil Mullis says he and a co-worker rescued the raccoon with some warm water and a shovel. “I poured the warm water under his bottom while a co-worker worked the shovel under his butt to try and break him loose.” Mullis says the rescue took about five minutes, at which point the raccoon ran into the woods.
