More than 4.9 million bottles of Fabuloso Multi-Purpose Cleaner have been recalled after the product was found to be contaminated by bacteria.
According to the Consumer Product Safety Commission, the infected bottles were sold in December and January through a number of U.S. outlets, including Walmart, The Home Depot, Dollar General, Sam's Club and Amazon, to name a few. The product became contaminated after workers forgot to add a preservative, allowing two types of bacteria to grow, says a rep for parent company Colgate-Palmolive.
The bacteria, which can cause serious infections in humans, can enter a person by being inhaled or through the eyes or an open cut, the CPSC reports. So far, no illnesses have been reported.
