Barbara Walters, Legendary Broadcaster & Creator of 'The View', Dead at 93

Barbara Walters, the trailblazing television news broadcaster and longtime ABC News anchor and correspondent.

She joined ABC News in 1976, becoming the first female anchor on an evening news program.

She won 12 Emmy awards, 11 of those while at ABC News

She made her final appearance as a co-host of "The View" in 2014 and became an executive producer

Walters was born in Boston on Sept. 25, 1929, to Dena and Louis "Lou" Walters

She once talked about her career and daughter and said, "I was so busy with a career. It's the age-old problem. And, you know, on your deathbed, are you going to say, 'I wish I spent more time in the office?' No. You'll say, 'I wish I spent more time with my family,' and I do feel that way. I wish I had spent more time with my Jackie."

Barbara was 93 years old.
