The NFL Suspended 5 Players For Gambling Violations

The NFL is suspending five players, including four members of the Detroit Lions, for violating the league's gambling policy.

Three players - Lions WR Quintez Cephus, safety C.J. Moore, and Commanders DE Shaka Toney - are suspended indefinitely for gambling on NFL games, and will miss at least one full year.

Lions receivers Jameson Williams and Stanley Berryhill received six-game suspensions for placing mobile bets from the team facility. They did not bet on NFL games, the league says.

The NFL says there's no evidence that any inside information was used or that any game was compromised by the bets.

The Lions announced Friday that Cephus and Moore had been released.

Is the NFL partly to blame by promoting gambling apps during games? Are these suspensions fair?
