Aerosmith's Joe Perry admits he's not sure what the group will do once they finish their tour. The guitarist tells ArtistDirect.com he knows frontman Steven Tyler "wants to do a solo record," while he's "halfway through" an album of his own.
Perry says he has a half-dozen songs he's "really excited about," and he's eager to return to the project. But he adds that a new Aerosmith album isn't out of the question. Joe says he thinks their last effort, Music From Another Dimension, is "one of the best" albums Aerosmith has made "in a long time," and he'd like to see the group "stick to our guns and keep making records like that and promote them our own way."
On the horizon for Perry is the release of his memoir, Rocks: My Life in and Out of Aerosmith, which is due October 7th. Joe says he expects to go on a book tour this fall, and he and his publisher are also "thinking of different ways to use the Internet" to promote it.
Aerosmith is currently on the "Let Rock Rule" tour with Slash.
